What works, what doesn't

Blink OS is early in development. This page tracks what's been tested and what's known to be broken or unsupported right now.

Intel / AMD CPUs (x86_64)
Standard 64-bit processors from the last 15 years. ARM is not supported.

Intel / Realtek WiFi
Firmware shipped out of the box for common chipsets.

NVIDIA GPUs
Open-source nouveau driver works for basic display. Proprietary NVIDIA drivers need manual install via apt.

AMD GPUs
Open-source amdgpu driver included and working.

Bluetooth
Not installed by default in the minimal image. Install bluez and blueman manually.

BIOS / Legacy boot
Only UEFI boot is supported. Legacy BIOS systems cannot boot the installer.

Printers
CUPS isn't installed by default. Install cups and system-config-printer for printing support.

VirtualBox

Should boot fine since it's a standard Debian base, but not actively tested.

Debian apt packages
Full access to Debian Bookworm's repositories. Anything in apt installs normally.

Not installed by default. Can be added manually with apt install flatpak.

Not supported natively. Use Wine or a Windows VM if needed.

Steam / gaming
Steam installs via apt or its .deb, Proton works for most titles. Not pre-installed or optimized yet.

Dual boot with Windows
Calamares installer can detect and dual boot Windows, but this isn't heavily tested yet. Back up your data first.
